Tonkichi

Shaw House Level 4, 350 Orchard Road T. 6835 4648
Branches in Ngee Ann City and Suntec City

This is my all-time favourite spot for tonkatsu (Japanese style fried pork cutlet). The restaurant offers different cuts (loin, fillet, etc) done in different styles: regular, or served with a curry or egg and onion sauce (top picture). For those who prefer other meats, they also serve chicken and seafood variations of these dishes. I usually order the chicken cutlet with the egg and onion sauce that goes very well with the never-ending bowl of finely chopped fresh cabbage. Yums.

also...the fact that you're eating all this decadent stuff and still remain ROshy-thin.

sun moon japanese - found the place and the food to be really pretty but not authentic. the rice in the maki, for instance, was not the sticky short grain variety and tasted like regular rice.

the first time i went to sun i was quite taken by my meal. but think the standards have dropped somewhat, as subsequent visits have not been as good. but you're right, the presentation is wonderful!
