Orris, LA

2006 Sawtelle Blvd, West LA
T. (310) 268 2212

This is another new food trend that is emerging in most dining capitals around the world – restaurants serving tapas sized dishes. There is no one main course but the meal is made up of a series of smaller dishes.

There is no limit to the number of courses and but rather how much you can eat. And its great for diners who love plenty of variety in their meals.

Orris serves Japanese influenced dishes. We started with a crab salad that was a nice crisp dish to start the meal with. This was followed by grilled peppers (capsicums) with feta cheese and ponzu dressing (yum!), crabcakes, fried chicken wings with a curry dip, and a quail that was grilled to perfection.

For dessert, (we had orignally declined to have this as we were so full but the restaurant's staff convinced us otherwise) we had fruit stacked between fried wonton skins and a sweet cream. Delicious.
