This is truly a dining lesson in its own right. The owner has a passion for all things Peranakan and that extends way beyond the food. I was told that the dishes here were based on his grandmother’s recipes and she does checks on the quality every once in awhile.
The dishes I tried were personally recommended by the owner himself. The chicken buah keluak (a mashed nut with a slight bitter aftertaste - top) was fragrant and mildly spicy, the chicken sionh (a chicken cooked with a spicy tamarind marinate) was a hit with my dining companions but I found it very similar in taste to chicken teriyaki (the chef will so hate me!), the Nonya acah (pickled vegetables) was refreshing.
I previously also tried the assam fish dish and the steamed otah (spicy fish - right) which was equally delicious. A great find of an eatery in this part of the world.

Been there several times already - fantastic food. Chicken Sioh tasted exactly like my granny's and otak fish was WOW!!! They had pepper crab the first time I was there but it was not on the menu since. Pity - easily the best version I've ever had.
agree... must revisit. its been awhile since i treated myself to this cosy place.
The ayam buah keluah is one of the best that I have eaten around Singapore.
